The illustrations of Alan Aldridge
This is the cover art for the 1969 book, 'The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics'. Artist Alan Aldridge was asked by the band to draw specific, individual pictures to accompany their lyrics after he worked with them and other artists, such as The Who on album sleeves. The book was republished in 1991. He said: 'It has taken me back to work I have done, but reminded me of all the lonely hours spent drawing when I might have been elsewhere. 'Alan Aldridge - The Man with Kaleidoscope Eyes' exhibition is at the Design Museum in London from October 10 – January 25.
